Store offers sex toys for guns

Maybe they believe in the saying, Make love, not war.

An adult  toy shop in Huntsville, Alabama wants gun owners to trade in their weapons for sex toys. The Pleasures adult store launched its “Guns for Toys” event to coincide with Valentine’s Day. Sherri Williams, owner of the store, says it’s their way of getting guns off the streets.

“This is my contribution to making love, not war, here in Alabama,” said Williams, who added that in her state, “guns are legal and adult toys are not.”

The promo is being held for the second time after the success of last year’s event.

The trade will have any adult surrendering a firearm receiving “romance inspiring gifts” of equal value, according to Williams. A licensed gun dealer will determine the fair market value of the surrendered gun.

Weapons found to have been used in a crime will be surrendered to the proper authorities, while the weapons with clean records will be dismantled and sold for parts.

Williams said the proceeds of the drive will benefit victims of violent crimes in the state via the Huntsville Fallen Officers Memorial Charity.

This year, Pleasures hopes to have at least a hundred guns surrendered and taken off the streets, she said.

Williams founded the sex toy store in June 1993 and now occupies 7,000 square feet of retail space. Beside the store is a lingerie shop, Diva Seductive Clothing.

The guns for toys promo is not the first time that Williams  has been in the news. She has proven her marketing savvy in the past when she opened the first drive through lane for sex toys, similar to drive throughs of fastfood outlets.

The three lanes offer buyers a quick and easy way to buy the sex toys of their choice. The customers place their orders, pay, then receive their toys in brown paper bags.

Huntsville is a high tech military and government town and among the regular customers of Pleasures are soldiers and couples based at the Army’s Redstone Arsenal, along with employees of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center.

My First Anal Kit
